Advanced Constitutive Behaviour
Constitutive behaviour forms the basis for modern geomechanics and geotechnical engineering. The use of appropriate constitutive models is considered a key aspect in the numerical simulation of geotechnical structures. Geomaterials exhibit complex non-linear behaviour, anisotropy, and rate dependency. CES-Lab combines advanced constitutive behaviour with laboratory and in-situ tests to develop numerical modelling approaches, serving to better understand the mechanical behaviour of geotechnical structures and the interactions with the natural and built environment.
CES-Lab are experts in advanced constitutive modelling, including:
• Hardening Soil (Small Strain) • Soft Soil Creep • UDCAM • PM4Sand • PM4Silt • Clay Hypoplasticity • Sand Hypoplasticity • Clay Hypoplasticity • Bingham Plastic • Power-law fluid • Viscoelastic • Herschel–Bulkley
